Public Transport

Train 

Flinders Street station is located approx. 200m from the venue. Access from Flinders Street to the venue is via Federation Square and is at an incline. Please be aware that the Fed Square plaza is cobblestoned and may be difficult to navigate for visitors using mobility aids. 

Trams

Level access tram stops nearby are:

• Stop 13 Flinders Street Station for trams 1, 3/3a, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67 and 72 (appox. 200m away)
• Stop 6 Russell Street (corner Russell Street and Flinders Street) for trams 75, 70 and 35 (approx. 200m)
• Stop 5 Flinders Street Station for trams 75, 70 and 35 (approx. 200m)

Car Parking

Secure Parking is proud to be a partner of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. They are offering all Comedy Festival ticketholders discounted parking at selected car parks. The closest Secure Parking to ACMI is at 300 Flinders St (approx. 500m away). For more information about how to redeem the discount, please visit the Secure Parking website.

City of Melbourne accessible on-street parking bays can be found in the following locations:

• Flinders Street between Russell Street and Swanston Street (approx. 50m)
• Russell Street between Flinders Lane and Collins Street (approx. 350m)
•           Flinders Lane between Elizabeth St and Swanston St (approx. 500m)

The best spot for drop off and pick-ups is on the Russell Street extension near Federation Square (approx. 100m).

General Venue Information

ACMI has 2 venues across the first floor. Both have step free access from Fed Square.

Accessibility

The main entrance of ACMI has step free access via the Fed Square plaza. Please be aware that the Fed Square plaza is cobblestoned and may be difficult to navigate for visitors using mobility aids.

To get to the Fed Square entrance from the Flinders Street entrance, you can use the lifts near the end of The Atrium – to the left of Beer Deluxe – to get to the Fed Square plaza level.

On entry to ACMI you will find both Swinburne Studio and Gandel Lab down the corridor to your left.

Bathrooms

Toilets are located on both the Ground Flour and on Level 1. ACMI have wheelchair accessible toilets and gender neutral toilets on both levels.

Baby change facilities are available near the toilets on the Ground Floor.

Bar & Café

ACMI have a cafe and bar that is open during the day, please see the ACMI website for menu and opening hours. For evening performances there will be a pop-up bar in the foyer outside the performance spaces.

Gandel Lab

The Gandel Lab is along a corridor on the left-hand side from the main entrance. This is all step-free access. 

Accessible seating in Gandel Lab is available on the right hand-side of the performance space, close to the front of the stage. Seating is at the same level as the performance.

Swinburne Studio 

Swinburne Studio is along a corridor on the left-hand side from the main entrance. This is all step-free access.  

Accessible seating in Swinburne Studio is available on the left hand-side of the performance space, close to the front of the stage.  Seating is high backed, padded banquet style seating.
