Main Hall

The entrance to the Main Hall is off Collins St. The Main Hall is split into two sections – Stalls and Balcony – and both sections are allocated seating.

If you are facing the main entrance on Swanston St:

• Turn right and walk to the corner of Swanston Street and Collins Street (approx. 30m).
• Turn left and walk up the incline of Collins Street towards Russell Street.
• On your left you will find two stepped access doors of seven steps each and a ramp.
• Ask a member of staff for directions to your seat and move through into the Collins Street foyer.

From the foyer you will be guided to your seat: either in the stalls (which are accessed via the foyer doors into the space) or in the balcony (access via a passenger lift or approx. 20 stairs). Please note that only seats in rows A – L have step free access. 

BACK TO:  MELBOURNE TOWN HALL 

Main Hall seating consists of:

·       Rows A – K: Flat floor seating consisting of high back banquet style fabric chairs. Row K provides various step free accessible seating options, with space for a wheelchair and flexible companion seating.

·       Rows L – X: Located in a raked seating bank at the rear of the flat floor seating with offset aisles and plastic fold-down chairs. The seating bank has a wide platform stair that raises up with approximately 10+ steps to get to the top row. The top row of the seating bank sits just below the sight-line of the first row of the Balcony seating.

·       Rows AA – KK: Balcony Level and consist of fabric covered fold-down chairs. Although there is a lift up to the balcony there are further steps required to access all seats on the balcony level.

Bathrooms are accessed via the Collins Street foyer. There are approx. 10 steps down to multiple bathroom stalls.

Accessible bathrooms are located on the ground floor and require lift access. Please speak to a staff member for assistance in finding your way to this facility.

For shows in Main Hall, there are two full service bars situated at the rear of the Stalls area, as well as a bar servicing the Balcony area when operational.
