General Venue Information
ACMI has 2 venues across the first floor, both have step free access from Fed Square.
Accessibility
Entry is via Fed Square plaza and is step free. Please be aware that the Fed Square plaza is cobblestoned and may be difficult to navigate for visitors using mobility aids.
To get to the Fed Square entrance from the Flinders Street entrance, you can use the lifts near the end of The Atrium – to the left of Beer Deluxe – to get to the Fed Square plaza level.
On entry to ACMI you will find both Swinburne Studio and Gandel Lab on the left-hand side of the corridor.

Bathrooms
Toilets are located on both Ground Flour and on Level 1. ACMI have wheelchair accessible toilets and gender neutral toilets on both levels.
Baby change facilities are available near the toilets at the Flinders Street entrance on the Ground Floor.
Bar & Café
Please see https://www.acmi.net.au/cafe-bar/ for menu and opening hours. For evening performances there will be a pop-up bar in the foyer outside the performance spaces.
Gandel Lab
The Gandel Lab is then along a corridor on the left-hand side. This is all step-free access.
Accessible seating in Gandel Lab is available on the right hand-side of the performance space close to the front of the stage. Seating is at the same level as the performance.
Swinburne Studio
The entrance to Swinburne Studio is through the main entrance doors via Federation Square. Swinburne Studio is then along a corridor on the left-hand side. This is all step-free access.
Accessible seating in Swinburne Studio is available on the left hand-side of the performance space close to the front of the stage. Seating is high backed, padded banquet style seating.
