Stop Kidding Yourself

  • 26 April 2025
  • · General

Melbourne International Comedy Festival is proud to continue our longstanding partnership with the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) to deliver important drink driving messages amongst the laughter this Roadshow. The campaign reminds audiences across Victoria heading to a comedy show, to stop kidding yourself – if you drink don't drive.

The Festival’s three-month Roadshow tour runs from April to July delivering the brightest stars from the 2025 Melbourne International Comedy Festival to 25 towns across regional Victoria, and 85 locations across the country.

The TAC’s Roadshow campaign will tackle the vague rules of thumb many people refer to when deciding whether to drive after drinking alcohol – such as the speed at which they drink, how many standard drinks per hour, if they’ve had enough water, how much they’ve eaten, and even body size.

Audiences at shows can engage with TAC’s Mythbusters at selected locations across the Victorian tour, busting myths to win on-the-spot prizes.

TAC has also worked with the Festival to roll out a series of online ‘vox pops’ featuring comedians from across the Roadshow tour – encouraging audiences to plan ahead and make arrangements to get home safely.
